TECHCET Projects Quartz Parts Market Growth In 2025 With Stronger Demand from AI, Advanced Chips, and Synthetic Materials
San Diego, CA, May 28, 2025: TECHCET — the electronic materials advisory firm providing business and technology information reports the global market for quartz fabricated parts used in semiconductor manufacturing is forecasted to grow nearly 10% in 2025, reaching USD $2.33 billion. This follows a 5.5% increase in 2024 as the equipment industry continued to perform strongly against a mixed industry recovery. Over the longer term, the quartz fabricated parts market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.0% from 2024 to 2029 according to TECHCET’s 2025 Critical Materials Report™ on Quartz Materials.
This growth is being pushed by the rising use of advanced chips, especially those used in AI and high-performance memory. While some segments, like 3D NAND, are still in recovery, other areas are seeing strong demand. Hot-fabricated quartz parts growth is outperforming their cold-fabricated counterparts because of new capabilities in forming higher-precision complex geometries that had previously required machining (cold), while maintaining higher structural integrity. These parts are projected to bring in $1.22 billion in 2025. Cold-fabricated parts will also grow, reaching $1.11 billion.
Quartz blanks (quartz rods, tubes, plates, and synthetic quartz) are also doing well. They are expected to reach $868 million in revenue in 2025, up from $791 million in 2024. Companies are also using synthetic quartz more often because of its higher purity, supporting the increasing standards needed for advanced manufacturing.
Even with this positive outlook, there are still challenges such as geopolitical issues, higher material costs, and a shortage of skilled workers, such as glassblowers, in some markets. In response to geopolitical dynamics, new startups have entered the market in countries including China, with their drive toward self-sufficiency. Additionally, some established China suppliers are looking to expand to serve the global market. Continued growth in the semiconductor industry will generally drive the high purity quartz market.
